The University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health, is recruiting an Associate Specialist in Environmental Health Sciences to manage on-going international research projects. Primary responsibility is the management and oversight of NIH-funded research in Guatemala and India. A longitudinal study is currently underway in the Guatemala highlands and pilot studies are set to begin in Tamil Nadu, India. The ideal candidate should have the ability to direct the reseach projects and supervise field staff and graduate students. The candidate will be responsible for supervision of trainings, standardizations, data management, reporting to NIH, including progress reports and supplemental awards. The candidate will be expected to initiate and contribute to abstracts and presentations of results for international conferences, funding agencies, and publications. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for all IRB compliance, subcontracts and related budgets.
Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a MPH or PhD in related discipline and have at least three years experience working on large collaborative research or evaluation projects. Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills including knowledge of research design and methodology including data gathering, data collection and analysis, and dissemination of results highly advantageous. Must be proficient in either SAS or Stata. Spanish language skills advantageous.
Salary Range: $48,372 - $58,224.
