Meiling Gao Wins ISEE Award

PhD candidate Meiling Gao won the 2014 International Society for Environmental Epidemiology's (ISEE) Outstanding Student Poster award for her work, “Population Exposure Assessment Based on a Distributed Network of Low-Cost Continuous Reading PM2.5 Sensors in Xi’an, China”. In collaboration with Dr. Edmund Seto of University of Washington and Dr. Junji Cao of Institute of Earth Environment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Meiling tested and deployed the latest generation of the Personal University of Washington Particle (PUWP) monitors across Xi'an alongside filter-based miniVols to measure the spatial and temporal variations in PM2.5 and to identify "hotspots" for air pollution. Congratulations Meiling!
