Professor Kirk Smith and his team of researchers placed 1st in the 2010 Vodafone Americas Foundation Wireless Innovation Project. Their project, aimed towards addressing the efficiency and impact of stoves using wireless stove use monitors (wSUM), was chosen from about 100 applicants throughout the US.
